Contractor KYC

Overview

VoltPay uses Persona (via Bridge.xyz) for contractor KYC (Know Your Customer) verification. This is required before a contractor can receive payments.

What Contractors Need

  • Government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID, or driver’s license)
  • A selfie for liveness verification
  • Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement) — some jurisdictions only

The Process

  1. Contractor receives a verification link via email
  2. They upload their ID document
  3. They take a selfie for liveness check
  4. Persona verifies identity (automated, typically under 1 hour)
  5. Status updates to “Active” when approved

Timeline

  • Automated approval: Under 1 hour (most cases)
  • Manual review: Up to 24 hours (if documents are unclear)
  • Re-submission needed: Contractor is notified with specific instructions

If KYC Fails

Section titled “If KYC Fails”

Common reasons for failure:

  • Blurry or expired ID document
  • Selfie doesn’t match ID photo
  • Address document is too old (must be within 3 months)

The contractor receives clear instructions on what to resubmit.
